What the [Bleep] Happened to Breezy Blue?

About Breezy Blue

In the early 1960s, bawdy comic Breezy Blue awakened America’s dormant sex drive as the first woman to utter “boobie” on regional television. Her landmark series of salty, suggestive “party records,” including Oh, Dat Dirty Broad! (1959), the Grammy-winning Underpaid and Oversexed (1960), Boobie Hatch (1961), Honestly, Men Today! (1962), Breezy Blows In (1963), and Behind the Button-Down Blouse of Breezy Blue (1964) remain collector’s items even today.

On the brink of international stardom, Breezy vanished without a trace in 1965. Was she murdered? Co-opted by a cult? Abducted by Bob Newhart?

In the six-part podcast What the [Bleep] Happened to Breezy Blue?, radio journalist Liz Ziegler travels America to discover what happened to one of the Sexual Revolution’s most scandalous comediennes. Interviews with sock puppets, Hollywood gossip columnists, wackadoodle comedy historians, obsessive Breezy fans, Instagram gator rasslers, righteous demagogues, and members of the Norwegian mafia lead listeners ever closer to solving the mystery.  It’s Liz’s first investigation, and by all accounts, her best one yet.

This podcast is a work of fiction. Any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, with the notable exception of Bob Newhart, is purely coincidental.
